Language Testing System
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System which tests English proficiency across the globe. Conducting 2 million tests in the past year, IELTS is the world’s most popular high stakes English-language test for study, work and migration.
IELTS is accepted by more than 9,000 organisations worldwide. These include universities, immigration departments, government agencies, professional bodies and multinational companies.
IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment and offered through more than 1,100 test centres and locations in over 140 countries.
The Language Proficiency Index (LPI) is an English language test of reading and writing. The test was originally developed at The University of British Columbia and is administered by Paragon Testing Enterprises, a subsidiary of The University of British Columbia.
The purpose of the LPI Test is to provide a consistent and standardized measurement of a test taker’s competency in English. Many post-secondary institutions in British Columbia and other parts of Canada use LPI scores to assess the English language proficiency of prospective and current students for entrance into their academic programs or first-year English courses.
The CELPIP Test allows test takers to demonstrate their ability to function in English. The test clearly, accurately, and precisely assesses a test taker’s English abilities in a variety of everyday situations, such as communicating with co-workers and superiors in the workplace, interacting with friends, understanding newscasts, and interpreting and responding to written materials.
There are two versions of the CELPIP Test: the CELPIP-General Test and the CELPIP-General LS Test.

The CELPIP-General Test assesses functional Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking skills, and

The CELPIP-General LS Test assesses functional Listening and speaking proficiency.
